Dark Yogi: One Week After the Kickstarter

The Kickstarter for Against the Dark Yogi ended one week ago today, and since then we’ve been very busy getting the ball rolling towards the final release. Since the close of the Kickstarter we’ve been doing cost estimates, commissioning art, finalizing our layout plans and putting together the additional content for the book unlocked by our stretch goals....

Crowdfunding Campaigns Part 3: Aftermath

The funding is over. The dust is finally settling. Hopefully you now have a fully funded project. If you do, you also now have a host of obligations to your backers and a limited budget to fulfill them in. Good luck! Here’s what you need to know....

Against the Dark Yogi is Funded!

We’ve really been blown away by the amount of support that we’ve gotten on the Against the Dark Yogi Kickstarter from our generous backers, and from the RPG community as a whole. Funding ended this morning, and the pledge total just peeked over $11,000! This means that not only have we been fully funded, but we have also met our final challenge stretch goal: full-color printed books! ...

72 Hours Left for Against the Dark Yogi

Less than 72 hours are left on the Kickstarter campaign for Against the Dark Yogi, and in the last few days we have reached two more stretch goals, unlocking an additional adventure in the game book and an full-color poster map of the world of Bhurloka! Four stretch goals remain, including a form-fillable character sheet, GM screen inserts, a tripled art budget and hardback books!...

Against the Dark Yogi: OGL Reached!

We're approaching the last week of the Kickstarter campaign for Against the Dark Yogi, and in the last few days we reached another stretch goal! Because we hit $6,500 we will commit to releasing the game under the Open Game License (OGL). This will allow others to produce compatible material or derived works. We're also more than halfway to our next stretch goal! At $7,000 we will add an additional adventure to the book, following up the "Kumari" adventure found in the Exclusive Backer Edition....

Crowdfunding Campaigns Part 2: Running

Okay, so you have your plans all set, you have your product mostly done and you have a crowdfunding profile all written up. The next thing to do is run the crowdfunding campaign itself. Welcome to 30 days of work (assuming a standard run of 30 days for the campaign)....

Against the Dark Yogi: 14 Days to Go!

We're into the second half of the crowdfunding campaign and the Against the Dark Yogi Kickstarter continues to advance. We're reached the $6000 stretch goal, unlocking an increased art and layout budget! Next up: release under the OGL at $6,500....

Crowdfunding Campaigns Part 1: Planning

We’re currently in the middle of running the Against the Dark Yogi Kickstarter campaign. This is our second such campaign (the first was to Kickstarter our Ganjifa: Indian Playing Cards), and I wanted to talk a bit about everything that’s involved in running a crowdfunding campaign....

Dark Yogi: Two Stretch Goals Down

The Against the Dark Yogi Kickstarter continues to surge onward. We're one third of the way through our crowdfunding campaign, and already the first two stretch goals have been reached!...

Against the Dark Yogi Meets its Goal!

We're happy to announce that this afternoon we surpassed our Against the Dark Yogi fundraising goal of $4,000! We couldn't have done this without the help of our generous backers, and we would like to again thank each and every one of them....
