Second Quarter 2008 Tab Update

Second Quarter 2008 Tab Update

This has been a busy quarter for the Collective, despite appearances to the contrary. Of foremost note, Tab-System Classic was completed and has made its way into the online store. Development of Trystell Reborncontinues to advance, although admittedly slowly. But the changes generated from the forum discussion so far have been consolidated into a single wiki page where they are all in one place and readily available.

Tab-System Neo has made tremendous progress, with both the Environmental and Mental modules having been completed this quarter, as well as a significant expanding of the appendices. Tab-Neo, in its current state, stands at 85,815 words--119 pages!--and is nearing that final downward slope towards playtest. The Character Design, Combat (sans mass combat), Environmental and Mental modules have all been written. This leaves only the Social Module, the mass combat rules and the rest of the appendices left to write. Look forward to a new preview of the game in the near future.

Also looking to the future, my main push with Tab right now is to get the rest of Tab-Neo (sans some appendix material that can be written in playtest) complete. This will allow the game ample time to be playtested; I aim to get to this point by the end of the quarter. Additionally, Tim and I want to set up a meeting to discuss Trystell Reborn development at some point. My aim for Trystell development is to get all of the macroscopic world decisions finalized by the end of the quarter, this way writing could begin as early as next quarter, while more microscopic region and character decisions are being worked on. That's it.
