I've been living in Abu Dhabi for about six years now and I've owned a few different European cars in that time, but my current 2017 Alfa Romeo Giulia Veloce has been the most rewarding and simultaneously the most frustrating car I've ever had. When it's running well, there's genuinely nothing else like it on the road, the steering feel, the chassis balance, the way it just dances through corners, it's intoxicating. But it also has these little quirks that seem to pop up at the most inconvenient times, like the infotainment system randomly rebooting, or the auto start-stop deciding to work only when it feels like it, or the occasional rough idle when the engine is cold. I've been taking it to a garage near my house for basic things like oil changes and brake pads, but I don't think they really understand the car properly, they just treat it like any other saloon. I'm looking for a place that actually has the proper diagnostic tools and knows the common issues with the 2.0 litre Multi-Air engine. I work out near the Al Mafraq area and I've noticed there are quite a few workshops around there, so I'm hoping there might be one that specialises in Italian cars. I've been doing some research and it seems like finding an Expert Alfa Romeo Workshop in Al Mafraq would be ideal for me because it's close to work and I could drop the car off in the morning and pick it up in the evening without too much hassle. Does anyone have experience with a workshop in that area that they'd recommend? I'm specifically looking for a place that has the right diagnostic equipment for Alfa's complex electronics and actually understands how to work on these cars properly. I don't mind paying a bit more for quality work, I just want someone who knows what they're doing and won't cause more problems than they solve.
