I'm currently negotiating on a 2015 Mercedes C200 that looks great in photos, but the seller keeps making excuses when I ask to take it to an independent garage for a full check. First he said he didn't have time, then he said his insurance only covers him driving it. The car is priced about 15 percent below market and I'm worried it's hiding something like a previous accident or odometer rollback. I've been burned once before and I told myself I'd never skip an inspection again. I found a company that offers Trusted Pre-Purchase Inspection Downtown and they're willing to come to the seller's location, but the guy is still being difficult, saying his schedule is too busy. At what point do you just walk away? I really like the spec but my gut is telling me something is off. Has anyone here ever bought a car against their better judgment and regretted it? Or am I being too paranoid and maybe he's just a busy guy? I'm thinking of giving him one last chance this weekend and if he says no again, I'm out. Just wanted to see what others would do in this situation. Thanks.
