Is this going to require an update of all of the already published support for SoS, or will they still be good to go with the new edition? I just finished reading the quick-start last night & the Memories scenario seems really awesome. I can't wait to run it now that I've read it and I'm just wondering how to spend my money on Saga Machine RPG's at this point. I'll back the Kickstarter when it goes live, for second edition, but if all the other stuff needs updating too, I don't want to buy that now. Are other Saga Machine RPG's getting second editions as well? Is that support still good to go with an updated edition?

Some guidance would be appreciated.

All of the Shadows Over Sol 1e scenarios should work with second edition, with the GM making only minor changes on the fly. Rules supplements on the other hand, such as Beyond Human or Shiny New Toys, may require more work to use with second edition. So if you stick with buying published scenarios, including the two major campaigns, you're pretty safe.

As far as the other game lines go, we'll have to see. The 1e edition of Shadows Over Sol is 10 years old at this point, and it's been our bestseller, so it's getting a second edition.

We don't currently have any definite plans to update other game lines with a second edition. We are waiting to see how the new edition of Shadows Over Sol sells.

If the new edition does well, Against the Dark Yogi is the next most likely candidate for a second edition, as it's 11 years old and the core, at least, has always sold well. Even then, any theoretical second edition isn't likely before 2027.

Dime Adventures and Age of Ambition are more of an open question. Dime Adventures never sold as well as the other game lines, and while Age of Ambition sells well, it's much more recent than the rest. So yeah, on a long enough timeline, they might receive second editions. But I wouldn't expect them in the next few years.
