Saga Machine Unified: Winter Playtest Report

At this point it's been several months since the release of the Winter Playtest Packet and the Summer Playtest Packet is almost here. A lot of work has been done behind the scenes, so let's take a look at where things currently stand:

  • The myriad powers and fighting styles received mostly positive feedback. Expect a few tweaks, but the basic systems will remain mostly intact.
  • Various weapon properties, particularly for high-tech weapons, will be streamlined based on playtesting feedback.
  • The healing rules, as well, will be simplified and streamlined based on hard-won playtesting experience.
  • The Pulling Punches combat option is being revised to make it easier to subdue opponents.

We're looking forward to the summer packet's release. It is expected to be the final public playtesting packet, and will include lots of new GM-facing sub-systems and options, including: social conflicts, computing, a chase system, vehicular combat, environmental hazards, gambling, investigation, quick combat and more! Look for it in the coming weeks.
