I’ve been thinking about how platforms like brumeblog comYour text to link here… fit into today’s internet, where short-form content and algorithm-driven feeds dominate almost everything.
Even with all the fast content on social media, blogs still feel different. They’re slower, more personal, and often more focused on ideas instead of trends. I still find long-form writing more useful when I actually want to understand a topic instead of just scrolling past it.
What stands out about independent blogs is:
More personal voice compared to social platforms
Less distraction from ads and algorithms
Better for deep reading and reflection
More control for creators over their content
At the same time, I wonder if blogging is changing rather than disappearing. Maybe it’s becoming more niche, more opinion-driven, and more focused on specific communities instead of mass audiences.
Curious what others think here:
Do you still read blogs regularly, or has your content consumption completely shifted to short-form platforms?
