The clans, the Guild, not much to speak of now, just a bunch of bums feeling sorry for themselves. They were easy enough to rile up to go deal with some goblins in the mines. Something doesn't smell right about anything, though. I'm afraid the Guild might be up to some play I haven't figured out yet. Either that or they got chumped by a two-bit sorceress and I've been keeping one eye behind me all this time for nothing.		Anyhow, we left that shithole and went to Noln, near the mountains. 		+	Can't quite figure what's going on with the Guild in Grissenwald. Looks like they've pulled out almost completely, and it's bloody hard to find a rat that's burrowed too far underground. Seems that they may be coming back to town, though - a message from the dwarf gal seems to say that the Guild is pissed about something in the town and coming to make things right. I can't find much in town to merit staying and trying to save it, but the Guild's still alive and has a hand in whatever's going on up north. If it turns out we do have business with them, we might not have to go find them cuz they'll come out of the woodwork enough to burn Grissenwald.
		+	Speaking of rats and undergrounds, we made for the Barren Hills and found some big ones. Not too tough, but they use nasty poison and Meiner had just a spot of trouble with them. Found some magical key, but it turns out the door it's for was forced open by some dwarves. A book in there said that some ancient mage brought a load of warpstone to a castle through a secret entrance. Good to know, since my track record for breaking into castles isn't good.

		+	Things are going so well! We tried to follow my father's trail into Wittgendorf, and all of the locals were so friendly to us! I gave them some of my food, for they were very hungry, and they told us that the local Lady lived in a castle on a hill, and that there was an old temple nearby. They were covered with weeping sores, and I wanted to study them and maybe cut a few off for sample, but we were in a hurry, so I decided not to! We found a man in the graveyard digging up the graves. Thinking him to be a corpse-thief in the employ of my father, I shouted for him to stop. He tried to run, but Alane put an arrow through his head. It did not kill him, it only sunk a little ways in, but he fell over. We caught him, and it turned out it had all just been a big misunderstanding! He had been so hungry that he was digging up the grave to cannibalize the dead! He said the same was true of all the other dug-up graves. Of course, that makes perfect sense! I too, have often contemplated enjoying the flavors of a fallen friend!!! What?!? No, no I have not! Get a grip, Konrad, control yourself...

		+	We found the ruined temple of Sigmar, where there was an ancient statue and a dwarf laying in state in a locked room. We let him be and I prayed to Sigmar to lend us strength, and I believe he heard me, for holy light shone forth from the statue for the briefest moment! I am sure I saw it. Emboldened, we went to the castle to demand to speak to the Lady for news of my father's whereabouts. We yelled at the drawbridge and tried to get attention, but no one came! Boris decided to sneak in by throwing his climbing-hook across the chasm, climbing across into a window, and then lowering the drawbridge to let us in. He made it halfway across before a man appeared at the window and tried to pry his hook loose! Alane shot him in the hand, and he yelled and ran away, but soon more men were roused. Boris climbed so fast - he is like a little hairy monkey from a traveling show! - but he fell just before reaching the window. It was a long way down, and soon a legion of armed men came out of the castle to kill us! We fled, and came back for Boris later. He was alive! Dwarf toughness is truly incredible. I was a little disappointed, because I wanted to get the chance to see all his insides and poke around without worrying about killing him...no! No, Konrad, he is your friend. I fixed him up, without making him more dead. Morr would not approve of me sending my innocent friends to his Gardens, not when he had so clearly spared them that Fate himself!

		+	In Nuln, we sold our brandy. Ireena and I followed my father's trail from what we learned from my brothers at the Temple of Morr. We all broke into his house, and we found that the windows were heavily shaded. We also found that he had a cellar full of blood! Udo reckons that he may be a vampire. I am not sure he is wrong. I decided I needed to learn more about the walking dead. I went into the Temple of Morr's library and searched out the dark tomes, those which spoke of the secrets of life beyond death. I read well into the night, of rituals foul and terrible and creatures thrilling and frightening and of the subtle manipulations with which a corpse can be made to walk again! I understand it all now! AHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!! But I must not let the Dark Lore overtake me, no! I have a duty to do, and companions to stand beside.

		+	In Grissenwald, we learned of recent raids on some farms. Alane and Udo and Meiner went to investigate, and they told us that they believed that Greenskins were responsible! Boris spoke with the Dwarfs who used to work at the coal mine before it was bought by Etelka, the same woman implicated in the Chaos business from Bogenhafen! The Goblins were tracked back to the old mine, and Boris and Meiner convinced them to go take back what was theirs! Udo follwoed the Dwarfs and made sure that they slaughtered all the dirty Goblins in the entire cavern. Man and Dwarf, working together to slay the Greenskin hordes! Sigmar would surely be proud, yes, and perhaps I would get the chance to examine some Greenskin bodies. On our way to Etelka's tower, we ran afoul of a Goblin patrol, led by a mad Goblin named Gutbag who wore a stolen tiara and dress and warned that he was a "mitee sorcer!" We had no fear of the chattering things and put them down without too much fuss, though Meiner and Alane took some cuts and bruises. I fixed them up as best I could...soon, we will visit Etelka and confront her about her wickedness!

	April of 1865, the Appomattox Treaty is signed and the American Civil War ends, but something else in AoC history occurs, a young baby is born as the last member in a line of long lived tribesmen, stolen from Africa long ago. Actually, that is not entirely true, his mother also inherited the longevity of her ancestors. Due to the joyous nature of the day, she named her child, something fairly embarrassing, Freedom Daye, a fact that the child has kept as a closely guarded secret, until this very day. The child grew up in a The Reconstruction era, occasionally picked on by his white peers, but frequently employed for menial work, due to his great size and strength. Secretly, Freedom would sneak into his employer's libraries or book areas only to grow more intelligent as the years passed by. Until 1942, the details of his life were unknown, then he made his debut as a 3 time champion in the Marine Corps boxing competitions. During World War II, Freedom distinguished himself as a talented soldier and intelligence operative. It was then that the US government did some digging and discovered the truth about his lifespan and heritage. A man who looked to be in his early 20's was almost 80 years of age. After a few meetings with various government agencies and departments, it was decided that Freedom Day would become among their elite agents. He would spend the next 4 decades creating contacts within the supernatural world and formulating basic containment plans. After that, in the early 1980's Freedom made his final push to start Project Gateway and eventually became known as "The Boss."
